TAYO—MAG
Tayo-mag should have no reason to exist but as I unfortunately do exist I must document my thoughts.
Hello readers?
Welcome, I'll be sharing my exciting journey through Tayo-mag, where I document my experiences along the way. In this very first episode, I had the pleasure of having a conversation with .553, where we delved into her incredible perspectives and ideas on a range of subjects.

Dialogue
Can you tell us about your background and what drew you to entertainment?
I’m Ruby Blessing, commonly known as Ruby or 553, i’m from Akwa Ibom state and i was a student of Abuad, i’m a creative and an artist, i’m into documentary photography, Style and venturing into Music as a Dj soon. As for what drew me into the entertainment industry, i think all the various aspects of my work as an artist is related to entertainment in some way, but i like the idea of sharing art with the world and impacting with it.
What are your short-term and long-term goals within the industry?
I have a singular goal, i want to make the message i carry clear. Different isn’t scary. i want to create a space in the industry where people like me and the little girls growing into the world aren’t afraid of being artists, aren’t afraid of being loud with what they can do or have to offer, i want to make a space for them to feel comfortable and meet people just like them and be able to nurture their art.
How do you see yourself contributing to the world in the next few years?
Interesting question, i don’t think i get to decide if i contributed to the world but over the next few years i will have my magazine published, which in turn will fulfill the purpose of creating a space for the future rogues to find a community of like minded individuals and a platform to share their art with people that understand or are open minded to new perspectives of world.
What specific areas or aspects of the entertainment industry are you most interested in?
Photography, Music, Style and the documentation of these elements
How do you stay updated on the latest fashion trends and developments?
Funny question, i don’t. Trends come and go all the time, i’m more interested in personal style and expression, style remains even when the fashion trend changes. If one is stylish they simply are but if you are fashionable the trends will affect how you present cause things go out of season all the time. i saw quote that read ‘fashion says me too and style says only me’. pretty self explanatory right?
Can you describe any innovative ideas or projects you have worked on or would like to pursue in the future?
I can’t speak on them just yet, it’s my little secret. stay very tuned though

Who are your influences in the entertainment and fashion industry and how have they shaped your perspective?
Dennis Rodman, i discovered him very recently, and he spoke directly to me, he plays basketball and as you know the NBA has uniform but he is known globally for his style regardless and he is quite eccentric and i love it and it gives me more fuel as an individual of the same nature.Sadly he is the only one i can think no one is really taking it that far these days or not any that i know of but i’m looking
What do you think is the biggest challenge facing the entertainment and fashion industry today, and how would you tackle it?
I got only one problem in the industry today, the need for competition and toxic comparisons, i don’t think there’s a way a single individual can curb this. I can give my view on the subject though, There’s no need for competition when it comes to art, there’s no point of it, you either make good shit or you don’t and you either own whatever tf you make or you don’t, everyone got something to say and everyone sees things differently, so some may like it or the won’t or you showing it to the wrong people, own your shit and stand on it, get inspired by who you think is ‘better’ or look away, hate doesn’t make your art better, never did.
Where do you see yourself professionally in the next 10 years? What are your aspirations?
To have a solo exhibition of my photography, a dream come true, traveling the world documenting, engaging and getting inspired by art and artists everywhere. In the next ten years i would love for my magazine to reach all the heights i have planned for it.
How do you think technology and social media have influenced the world we currently live in, and what opportunities do they present?
I think it affects everything to those who let it and technology is all we hear and see in the future to come, it presents opportunities for everyone in every field in some way, advertising, visibility and to some that’s their entire business and livelihood. I don’t want to go into the negatives of social media that could take all day but i mean by now we should that social media shit isn’t real so perhaps have fun with it.
What is your opinion on sustainability and ethical practices in the fashion industry?
I don’t know much about the fashion industry, i’m not in the fashion industry, one day perhaps but i believe as long as fashion changes as it does, it will live forever.

Can you share any experiences or instances where you demonstrated creativity and out-of-the-box thinking in any context?
I think my entire life is some out of the box shit, all my work, my photography, my style, my thinking all of it. Never been regular, always been one of them ones.
How do you handle criticism and feedback in your work?
I'm good on that front, very open to it as long as the know what criticism is, i love feedback, i want to engage, impact and improve so feedback is lovely.
What steps have you taken or would you take to build your network and establish connections to further your growth in the entertainment and fashion industry?
First off, moving to a different environment with people that have minds i can relate and experience and the ability to link with the opportunities that have been presented to me which i something i can’t do right now. Putting myself out there, sharing my work still. Letting God do his thing in me and through me.
Finally, please share a closing remark or anything else you would like us to know about you and your passions
I wanna thank you for the opportunity to share this with you and the world, #tayoverseishere.
A.T.C.R is coming and y’all better watch out.
